A digital agency for optometrists.

Mule Digital builds websites for independent optometry practices, opticians, and eye-care clinics. Clean, credible sites that handle the exam-booking flow, surface the frame brands you actually carry, and rank for both the routine-exam and contact-lens search traffic.

01 · How we frame it

What we know about optometrists.

Independent optometry has a dual identity that most practice websites underplay — it's both a medical service (eye exams, treatment, referral) and a retail business (frames, lenses, contacts). Patients arrive looking for one or the other and most sites collapse them into a generic services grid that does neither well.

The move is to give each side its own surface. A medical side that handles exam booking, insurance, and direct-access conditions (dry eye, glaucoma screening, diabetic retinopathy). A retail side that surfaces the frame brands you actually carry, shows real photos of the dispensary, and handles contact-lens reorders. Both can live on one site cleanly; what they can't do is share a single homepage.

02 · Why we’re a fit

Why a optometry practice picks Mule.

  • 01Medical and retail surfaces handled separately — exam booking and clinical content on one path, frame brands and dispensary on another.
  • 02Real photos of your dispensary, your exam rooms, your team. Stock optometry photography is identical across thousands of practices.
  • 03Frame-brand pages for the labels you actually carry — buyers search by brand and the practices with brand pages capture that traffic.
  • 04Insurance and vision-plan acceptance surfaced clearly — one of the top filtering criteria for routine exams.
Common questions

From optometrists.

  • Do you integrate with our EHR and scheduling system?

Patient-facing tools (Eyefinity, Solutionreach) embed cleanly. Direct EHR integration (Compulink, Officemate, RevolutionEHR) is rarely the right scope; the patient-facing booking layer is what we wire.

  • Should we sell frames online?

Usually not — the dispensing fitting and lens fabrication don't translate to a clean online checkout, and you'll mostly compete on price against Warby Parker and Zenni Optical, which is a losing game. The frame surface is for in-store discovery and pre-shop research.

  • Can you handle contact-lens reorders?

Yes — we integrate whichever reorder platform you already use (1-800 Contacts portals, ClearVision Optical, Lensabl). Reorder is the steady-revenue piece most practices underplay online.

  • Do you handle vision-plan acceptance content?

Yes. We surface VSP, EyeMed, Davis, Spectera, and the other major plans clearly with what's covered. Patients filter on plan acceptance and the practice that's clear about it wins the search.
