A digital agency for distilleries.

Mule Digital builds websites for small distilleries — whiskey, gin, rum, brandy, agave, and the long tail of craft spirits. Clean sites that get the tasting room and tour found locally, and that take wholesale and on-premise relationships seriously.

01 · How we frame it

What we know about distilleries.

Craft spirits have the highest brand-to-substance ratio of any food category and the most regulated marketing rules. The TTB constrains what you can claim, where you can sell, and how you can describe the product. Most distillery sites we audit either ignore the constraints (and create compliance risk) or over-correct into stiff corporate copy that doesn't sell anything.

The path through is straightforward — let the still, the people, and the place do the talking. Real photography of the actual cooper-built barrel room, the actual still, the actual distiller. Tour and tasting reservations front and centre. A wholesale page with current SKUs, ABV, distribution footprint, and a buyer-friendly contact path. Skip the maximalist brand storytelling — buyers in this category sniff out marketing puffery faster than in any adjacent space.

02 · Why we’re a fit

Why a distillery picks Mule.

  • 01Tour and tasting booking integrated with whatever reservation tool you already run — Tock, Resy, or a simple form for small operations.
  • 02Wholesale page that gives a buyer the spec sheet and a contact in two clicks. No "contact us for more information" black hole.
  • 03Real photography of the actual operation — the still, the rickhouse, the distiller. Stock craft-spirit photography is a tell.
  • 04Structured data for FoodEstablishment + Manufacturer so the tasting room and the production facility are legible separately to search and AI engines.
Common questions

From distilleries.

  • Can you handle direct-to-consumer spirits shipping?

DTC spirits shipping is more restricted than wine — only a handful of US states allow it and most require a fulfilment partner. We can integrate a compliant shipper (Speakeasy, ShipCompliant) if your legal posture supports it. We won't sell you a DTC build without the compliance check first.

  • What about merch and barware?

Easy add-on, usually on Shopify. We integrate it with the main marketing site so the brand is consistent and the checkout path is one click off the homepage.

  • Do we need a press / awards page?

For most craft distilleries, yes — awards and credible third-party coverage are how buyers triangulate quality before tasting. We build it quietly: name of award, year, awarding body, no breathless agency copy.

  • Do you write the brand voice?

Yes. We interview the distiller and write from the conversation. The voice ends up sounding like a person who knows their mash bill, because that's the substance you gave us.
